I’ve consistently earned six digits as an agent and a broker and I work about 20 hours a week at it. The rest of the time I’m out having fun! I grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. From there I became an elementary school teacher. In the summertime, I flipped houses and fell in love with the process and the wealth that can be created through real estate.

In 2007, after I moved to Colorado, I got my real estate license and started working for a large international brokerage firm. While I was studying for my license, instead of teaching elementary school, I worked as the receptionist at the real estate office so that I could see how things worked from the bottom up. During that time I learned how lucrative and devastating the real estate market could be because of the bank fallout and massive foreclosures.

After working for many different corporations, I found that what brought me the most joy was working for myself. When I need extra support, I will partner with other independent brokers from time to time, and I have a small team that helps me with marketing and transaction coordination. We are known for keeping the complicated rural and second home market simple, along with our impeccable customer service. Most of my real estate business comes from agent referrals and past clients.

Many people ask me what the key to starting a brokerage is. I always tell them it stems from confidence. When I started out on my own, I abnormally felt like my confidence was lacking. I saw a whole lot of people who had less industry knowledge than me excelling at owning their own brokerages. The simple differentiator was their confidence.

I’ve set up my life to be filled with wealth and quality time. I’ve never cared about team expansions or taking over other market areas. I found what makes me the happiest is staying consistent with my income and keeping my small client base extremely happy, while having a great work-life balance. I love spending time with my family, friends and my best friend, my dog Ruby! I love to spend as many days as I can traveling, hiking and being outside.
